studio sideproject

We are a full service, POC/women owned architecture and design practice located in Oakland, California.

The Golden Tree Carts were designed and built as part of the SHINE on SF program. The carts house trees with golden labels to prompt SF residents to reconnect and travelled to 16 different sites throughout the city. The carts were each designed as parts of a whole belonging to a larger installation that spelled out SHINE ON!

We were tasked with converting the Balay Bus, a focal point of the Kapwa Gardens into a sanctuary to be used by the hardworking garden team and managers.  Our design is a system of modular furniture components using a green and yellow palette with a focus on wellness and vibrancy. We worked closely with fabricators and volunteers on site to realize the design.

In collaboration with the team at Kapwa Gardens, Kultivate Labs and Non Uniform Standard.

We worked with IDW Studio and the Lawrence Hall of Science to help implement an IDEO rebranding of the lobby space with a redesign of the ticketing area/lobby, the cafe, and new materials, furniture and finishes throughout the main floor.

As part of this process, we created modular, conceptual furniture and exhibit divider designs to explore lobby redesign options. See those here.
